Summary
[edit]DescriptionCross-section of the Strata of tel Megiddo (20719420445).jpg |
The strata (layers of settlement) are very clearly demarcated here. The surface level preserves Iron Age II remains. The top layer of buried rubble belongs to Iron Age I. Below it is the Late Bronze layer, followed by the Middle Bronze layer. The exposed ruins of a temple (just the base of some walls) at right date from the Early Bronze period, and the excavators reached bedrock at lower left. |
