Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Diagram showing what happens to vertically-propagating EM waves (indicated by red raytraces) that are at a lower frequency than the critical frequencies. The left raytrace is at a higher frequency than the E layer critical frequency, foE, but lower than F layer critical frequency. The right ray is lower than foE. Vertically-propagating waves at higher frequencies than foF2 will not be reflected and will go into space.
