Description
English: A harpsichord made by Bartolomeo Cristofori, the inventor of the piano. It includes, unusually, a two-foot choir of strings as well as the more standard eight-foot and four-foot. On the surface of the instrument, from top to bottom: eight-foot hitchpin rail, eight-foot bridge, four-foot bridge, two-foot bridge, jack rail covering the jacks, two-foot nut (curved), four-foot nut, eight-foot nut, tuning pins. The instrument is in the collection of the Musical Instrument Museum in Leipzig, Germany.
