| Description |
English: (1 in a multiple picture set) When I saw this building which had many small rooms connected together, I thought of an early day motel. But I have read a lot of history about the American West, and I think that these were what they called 'cribs.' The prostitutes, who profited from the miners' lusts, would rent these small rooms, just large enough for a bed and a washstand. These rooms were located behind a large building which looked as if it might have been a bar at one time, and that would go along with my theory. |
