Summary
[edit]DescriptionCrayford, Princesses Parade, Waterside - geograph.org.uk - 716148.jpg |
English: Crayford: Princesses Parade, Waterside This parade of shops and flats was built on the site of the former Princesses' Theatre, which was built by the Vickers Company and opened in July 1916 for their employees who were munitioneers during the First World War. Unfortunately the theatre was almost completely destroyed by fire in December 1916, but was eventually rebuilt in 1919 as a cinema that lasted until 1957.
The near shop with the dark blue frontage is Create Inn, a family-run paint-your-own-pottery studio, which sounds like great fun. Their website is here http://create-inn.com/default.aspx |
