(b. ca. 1605, Neerlinter, d. ca. 1661, Bruxelles) Peasants in front of a Village Inn 1640s Oil on wood, 76 x 60 cm Akademie der bildenden Künste, Vienna Craesbeeck started off in the same monochrome style as Adriaen Brouwer, which he abandoned to a certain extent later on. In the 1640s he frequently placed his group of drinkers in the outdoors as well as using brighter colours.
