Description Covered board sidewalk in Tombstone, Arizona. Safety negative, 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches or smaller. Farm Security Administration photograph from the Office of War Information Photograph Collection. This is looking north on 5th Street between Allen Street and Fremont Street, standing on the east side of the street. The San Jose lodging house - Tombstone's first lodging house if you believe the modern sign - is on 5th and Fremont, and part of its sign can be seen behind the nearest wooden pole. The livery stable left of the San Jose - while not there any more in present day - has a modern sign noting its location (it's Jack Crabtree's Livery Stable). Also, the mountains look right according to Google Street View.
