Coulommiers-la-Tour (Loir-et-Cher)
Le village possède une tour médiévale qui se situait à la frontière du comté de Vendome et du comté de Blois. Moins élaborée que le donjon des Montils, cette tour date probablement d'avant 1160-1170. La construction du Donjon (avec salle basse et salle haute) remonte certainement au XIème siècle avec des compléments de la fin du XIIème siècle. Le donjon s'élève sur une motte artificielle et était protègé par une enceinte en maçonnerie formant une première ligne de défense. La seconde ligne de défense est contituée de douves remplies d'eau, alimentées par un petit ruisseau. Le site a été nettoyé et les fossés restaurés et remis en eau entre 1976 et 1983. Bien que faisant partie du Vendômois la seigneurie de Coulommiers relevait des sires de Beaugency. A partir du XIème siècle l'Abbaye de la Trinité de Vendôme y possède de nombreux domaines. Fin XIe siècle (vers février 1096), le comte de Blois Etienne, venait séjourner avec Adèle, son épouse, au château de Coulommiers, avant son départ pour Jérusalem. En 1329, le rattachement de la seigneurie de Coulommiers au comté de Vendome est définitif. Par un acte en date du 18 octobre 1631, le sacristain du baptiseur Louis Lambert s'adresse ainsi aux "gens de Selommes et gens de Coulommiers" : « Le présent baptême, à cause qu'on allait en procession à Coulommiers, et que j’allions dire la messe, a esté différé à escrire jusqu’au jour de Saint Luc, le 18e jour d'Octobre, au dit an par oubliance.» On devait probablement se rendre ainsi chaque année en Coulommiers pour la fête patronale qui est la Décollation de Saint-Jean-Baptiste, et tombe le 29 Août. |
