Description
Deutsch: Freistehendes, auf eine Blockrandbebauung ausgerichtetes Gebäude in Cottbus, Schillerstraße 42, 1905; Fassade in drei asymmetrisch angeordnete Achsen unterteilt, mittig Erkerachse mit Blendgiebelabschluss, links Eingangsachse, rechts Balkonachse, Erdgeschoss mit Putzquaderung, Obergeschosse mit rauem Kammputz, Attika in Mittelachse erhöht und mit Rosenfries abschließend, im Kontrast zu den Rauputzflächen die glatt geputzten, geschossübergreifenden Rahmungen der Fenster und die Dekorfelder, das Ornament von stilisierten Pflanzen- und figürlichen Motiven bestimmt, am zentralen Blendgiebel stilisierter Adler mit Kartusche, handwerkliche Ausformung als Antragstuck im Detail erkennbar, Merkmale des frühen, ornamentalen Jugendstils in den Asymmetrien des Baukörpers und in der Ausformung des Bauschmucks, die bauzeitlichen Innenstrukturen unter dem Einfluss dieser Stilrichtung, bis in Details im Zustand der Entstehungszeit erhalten. Von Bedeutung auch als Wohnhaus des renommierten Stuckateurs und Bildhauers Walter Adler, dessen qualitätvoller, häufig manuell ausmodellierter Stuckdekor sich an vielen Fassaden in Cottbus findet; Kulturdenkmal
English: Perimeter block building in open development in Cottbus, Schillerstraße 42, 1905, facade divided into three asymmetrically arranged axes, central oriel window with gable end, left entrance axis, right balcony axis, ground floor with plaster square, upper floors with rough comb plaster, parapet raised in central axis and ending with rose frieze; smoothly plastered, cross-floor framing of the windows and the decor fields in contrast to the rough plaster surfaces, the ornament determined of stylized plant and figurative motifs, at the central gable stylized eagle with a cartouche, the craftsmanship of dab-on stucco work can be seen in details, characteristics of the early, ornamental Art Nouveau in the asymmetries of the structure and in the shape of the building design features, the building period internal structures under the influence of this style, state of origin recognizable in details; also important as the residence of the renowned stucco artist and sculptor Walter Adler, whose high-quality, often manually modeled stucco decor can be found on many facades in Cottbus; cultural heritage monument
