Основателем виллы, построенной в начале XVII в. был Кардинал Сципионе Кафарелли Боргезе, племянник Папы Павла V. Позже территория парка была увеличена до 78 гектаров. Традиции отдыха за городом имеют древнее происхождение. Так отдыхали и в древнем Риме Нерон и Лукулл.

Владельцы виллы иногда открывали парк для посещения горожанами. Так длилось до эпохи крупных спекуляций недвижимостью, начавшейся в 1870 г. Король спас виллу и парк тем, что сначала купил парк, а затем подарил его жителям города


English: Corner Of Villa Borghese. The founder of the Villa, built in the early seventeenth century Cardinal Scipione, Cafarelli Borghese, nephew of Pope Paul V.
