Illustration for the mass flow meter article, for the purpose of illustrating the mass flow meter operating principle.
This is the third animation of a group of four.
The previous animation is Image:Coriolis_meter_rotating_flow_512x512.gif
The next animation is Image:Coriolis_meter_vibrating_flow_512x512.gif This animation represents how curve tube mass flow meters are designed. The fluid flows through two parallel tubes. An actuator (not shown) induces a vibration of the tubes. (In this animation, the vibration is shown in slow motion.) The two parallel tubes are counter-vibrating, to make the measuring device less sensitive to outside vibrations. A flow meter that uses the Coriolis effect for its operating principle is also called a Coriolis flow meter.
