Description
English: A copper alloy pipe tamper dating to the post medieval period.

The pipe tamper is of a fluted baluster type design with a flat circular base and terminating in a worn point. The tamper consists of the stem with several fluted swellings and tamping end.

There are a variety of types of pipe tamper but similar examples have been recorded on the PAS database, see YORYM-3D6043, YORYM-1550C7 and WAW-65B8D7.
