Copper alloy nail cleaner fragment.
Description
English: Cast copper alloy nail cleaner fragment, both ends missing. Flat sectioned. The top is broken off across a loop (presumably the suspension loop, on the same plane as the shaft), then there is a circular swelling which tapers abruptly to a parallel sided blade which is then broken. Length 32.20mm, width 13.10mm, thickness 2.0mm, weight 2.35g. Probably Crummy type 2b (Colchester Archaeological Report 2, 1983, p58), 2nd-3rd century.
