Title
Copper-alloy buckle frame
Description
English: Copper-alloy double looped asymmetrical buckle frame. The frame is broken and missing the greater proportion of its rear loop and one of its horizontal frame bars. The pin bar is also broken. The terminal of the remaining loop is rounded and has a slightly pointed outer edge. The buckle frame is bevelled on its obverse and flat on the reverse. There are no traces of decoration and it suffers from copper corrosion. The remains of the buckle are 21 mm long and 19 mm wide. It is similar to some examples given in Whitehead (1996, page 91; nos 570-573) which he dates to the late 17th century.
