English: Central oval with seated Virgin nursing child, in polychrome silk satin stitch and couched gold, set in red velvet shield with couched and embroidered gold arabesques. Outer border of undecorated red velvet with wide gold galloon edging. Deep twisted gold fringe on three sides. Lined with faded glazed red linen of period.
