English: Conway Station. View eastward, towards Llandudno Junction and Chester; ex-London & North Western Chester - Bangor and Holyhead main line. The view shows how the Victorian railway magnates had to compromise with those who objected to the building of a railway virtually through the ancient Conwy Castle. Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 No. 44765 (modified with a double-chimney) comes in with the 16.26 Crewe - Bangor train. |
