Description
English: Cast copper alloy or base-silver contemporary copy of a denarius of Septimius Severus (AD 193-211), the prototype dating to AD 195 (Reece Period 10), P M TR P III COS II P P, Minerva standing left with spear and round shield. As RIC IV, pt 1, p. 98, no. 61. Copies of Severn period denarii are very common in Britain, probably being manufactured across the Province.
