Description
English: Wooden molds lead the way to a reddish concrete base, poured only hours earlier, that will serve as the platform for a fallen Soldier memorial sculpture, Fairfield, Calif., Aug. 7. The sculpture will become the centerpiece of a memorial park being constructed at the SFC Isaac Shawn Lawson Memorial Armory. Lawson, a Desert Storm veteran and military police investigator, was killed by an improvised explosive device while serving in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Baghdad on June 5, 2006. At the time, Lawson was deployed with his unit Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 49th Military Police Brigade, California Army National Guard. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Staff Sgt.
