English: The Fiesta de la Santa Cruz (12 – 15 September) in Querétaro, Mexico, is a syncretistic religious celebration with processions and dances and many thousands of active participants from the entire region. Central location of the celebration is the church of La Santa Cruz (Holy Cross), the oldest Christian temple in Querétaro and site of a mythic battle between christianised and traditional tribes (1531). The elaborate head dresses of the dancers are inspired by prehispanic manuscripts and sculptures.

September) in Querétaro, Mexiko, ist eine synkretistische religiöse Feier mit Prozessionen und Tänzen und vielen Tausend aktiven Teilnehmern aus der gesamten Region. Zentraler Ort der Feier ist die Kirche La Santa Cruz (Heiligkreuz), die älteste christliche Kirche von Querétaro und Schauplatz einer mythischen Schlacht zwischen christianisierten und traditionellen Völkern (1531). Der aufwändige Kopfschmuck der Teilnehmer ist inspiriert von prähispanischen Manuskripten und Skulpturen.

Lugar central es el templo de la Santa Cruz, la iglesia católica más antigua de la ciudad y un lugar de suma importancia para la cristianisación de la región. Los penachos preciosos se inspiran en manuscritos y esculturas prehispánicos.
