Composite DRESS HOOK |
||
Description |
English: Silver/gilt dress hook of composite construction. Ten-petalled back-plate with domed boss and separately applied hook; now bent. The decoration on the boss is as follows; small central filigree circle enclosing raised pellet and surrounded by four others. Around the boss are four filigree circles, each enclosing three small filigree circles with a raised pellet in the centre where the circles meet. This central pellet is missing in three of the motifs. At the lower end og the boss, at either side of the four larger circles is a smaller filigree circle which also has a raised central pellet. There is a filigree border at the junction of the dome and backplate. Some slight damage on the backplate. Gilding survives on the boss, but has largely worn off the pin and the reverse of the backplate. |
