Description
Español: Reproducción de la estela funeraria de Lucio Emilio Cándido en el Antiquarium de la Ciudad Romana de Complutum en Alcalá de Henares (Comunidad de Madrid - España). Pertenecía a una de las principales familias complutenses, la de los Emilios. Trabajó como militar en las cohortes pretorianas, falleciendo en Roma. La lápida presenta grabada la inscripción en latín:

L(UCI) F(ILIUS) QUI(RINA)
CANDIDUS
COMPLUTO
MIL(ES) COH(ORTIS) VIII

Traducido al español como:

A los dioses Manes. Lucio Emilio Cándido, hijo de Lucio, de la tribu Quirina, (originario de) Compluto, soldado de la centuria de Rufo en la VIII Cohorte pretoriana, sirvió 11 años y vivió 35. (La lápida) mandó ponerla en su testamento. AE 1984, 65, Roma, Italia.
