Title
Complete finger ring made from a flat strip of copper alloy. Probably Post Medieval (AD 1500 – AD 1600).
Description
English: Complete finger ring made from a flat strip of copper alloy. Probably Post Medieval (AD 1500 – AD 1600). External diameter 19mm, width 5mm and about 0.5mm thick. Weight 1.65g

The outer surface of the hoop has punched decoration in the form of alternating rectangular panels of cross saltires and wavy lines. The panels containing the crosses are about 7.5mm in length and the panels containing the wavy lines are about 4.5mm in length. The joint where the two ends of the strip abut is clearly visible. The inside of the hoop has a form of hallmark consisting of three marks: a rosette, an image which is corroded and unrecognisable and a letter W. The ring is slightly corroded and there are traces of gilding on the external surface of the hoop.
