English: Sgt. 1st Class Thomas L. Guess (top), Jackson, Miss., of the Camp Shelby-based 154th Regiment, tries to pin Spc. Charles Todd, Clinton, Miss., a member of the 2nd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group, during the combatives portion of 155th Armored Brigade Combat Team's Best Warrior competition, recently held at Camp McCain, Miss. Over a three-day period, 32 soldiers from throughout the MSARNG were challenged by an Army physical fitness test, land navigation course, combatives (hand-to-hand combat), six-mile road march with 30-pound rucksack, individual weapon qualification, confidence course, written test, and an interview panel composed of brigade command sergeants major. First place and runner-up winners in the Soldier of the Year and Non-Commissioned Officer of the year categories from each major command will compete in the Mississippi Army National Guard's Best Warrior Competition to be held Feb. 18-22, 2013, at the Camp McCain Training Site.
