It also has a facemask of black spots and retractile claws; Habitat: Forests, tropical rainforests; Diet: Omnivore: berries and pulpy fruits, birds, rodents, insects; Reproduction: Gestation lasts 90 days. Civets can live as long as 20 years; Social Structure: Social organization for these animals is based on available food resources and predators; Behavior: Common palm civets are nocturnal and largely arboreal; Status: No special status; Interesting Facts: Common palm civets are also known as the toddy cat because they eat fermented palm sap called toddy.
