Description

Title: Industry - Comalco

Publicity Caption: The smelters 450 foot high stack. Gases given off during the smelting process are exhausted through the stack at 45 miles an hour - allowing the gases to be dispersed safely over a wide area of ocean. To the left are multi-cyclonic dust collectors which remove nearly all the solids in the gases before dispersal through the stack. Comalco Aluminium smelter, Bluff, Southland
