| Description |
English: The City of Columbus was awarded a Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund grant to complete remediation and demolition activities at the former 3M site. The property has been used for industrial purposes since 1901 when the Columbus Nursery and Fifth Avenue Rail Yard Coal Company opened. In 1920, the D.L. Auld Company began using the property for metal finishing. In 1986, the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company (3M) bought the D.L. Auld Company and continued operations until 1990. The property has remained vacant since 2000. The grant will be used to acquire the property, remediate impacted soils, install infrastructure improvements, remove asbestos and waste, and demolish all existing buildings. The site will be redeveloped into a mixed-use development, including retail and residential uses. The project is expected to create three jobs. |
