Nederlands: Pers Nederlands: Gevlochten cassavepers
circa 175 x 10 x 10cm (68 7/8 x 3 15/16 x 3 15/16in.) Nederlands: De cassavepers is een cilindervormige koker, gevlochten van repen van de stengelbast van de warimbo en touw, met aan beide uiteinden een lus. Met deze pers kan het giftige blauwzuur uit cassave worden geperst, zodat deze laatste geschikt is voor consumptie.
In samengedrukte toestand wordt de pers gevuld met cassave. Vervolgens wordt zij verticaal opgehangen aan een lus, terwijl er door de andere lus een stok gestoken wordt. Door gewicht aan de stok te brengen, bijvoorbeeld door er op te gaan zitten, rekt de pers zich uit en wordt het vocht, waarin het blauwzuur zit, uit de cassave geperst.Dit object is verzameld tijdens de Toemoekhoemak Expeditie van 1907.
