Description
English: Coat of arms of Hjørring county granted in 1793. The lion is taken from the Danish royal coat of arms and symbolize Jutland. The heart also comes from the royal coat of arms and symbolizes the district of Vendsyssel. The point symbolizes the shape of the county and the three towers stand for the three main towns of the county, Hjørring, Sæby and Skagen.
Dansk: Hjørring amts våben, tildelt 1793. Løven kommer fra rigsvåbnet, og symboliserer Jylland. Hjertet er ligeledes fra rigsvåbnet, og symboliserer Vendsyssel. Den hvide kile er en repræsentation af amtets geografiske form, og de tre tårne er for amtets købstæder Hjørring, Sæby og Skagen.
