The book Patiala & The Great War: A Brief History of the Services of the Premier Punjab State offers a meticulous account of the contributions made by the State of Patiala during the First World War. This first edition, featuring a photogravure portrait of the Maharaja of Patiala by Vandyk and published by the Medici Society in 1923, was created for private circulation. It documents the pivotal role Patiala played in the war, furnishing nearly 28,000 men to the battlefield across various theaters.
