Summary
[edit]DescriptionClosed forever^ - geograph.org.uk - 43610.jpg |
English: Closed forever? Monsal Head Viaduct spans the River Wye about 3 miles northwest of Bakewell and formed part of the defunct railway mainline from Derby to Manchester. The photograph shows the closed off entrance to one of the many tunnels on the line which, for part of its length, form the Monsal Trail. This photograph is looking in a south easterly direction. If the view point were to be rotated through 180° then the viewer would be looking directly onto the Monsal Head viaduct.
