Summary
[edit]DescriptionClay for Export - geograph.org.uk - 1060441.jpg |
English: Clay for Export The morning clay for export departs from Lostwithiel and heads down the Fowey branch. At Carne Point (Fowey) the wooden trucks will be emptied into a waiting ship. This was one of about a handful of daily trips down the branch that day. The amount of clay moving would depend on the number of ships that were in Port. These wooden vacuum brake wagons, known as Clayhoods, were all withdrawn in the 80s and replaced by air-braked wagons type CDA. |
