| Description |
English: Built in 1899, this Classical Revival-style house was designed by Esenwein and Johnson for Clarence L. Bryant. a co-founder of the Bryant & Stratton Business College. The three-story house suffered a devastating fire as the result of arson in 1996 that almost completely destroyed the original interior. The building was restored by Chris and Matt Moscati of TRM Architects starting in 2001. The house features a red flemish bond brick exterior, low-slope roof enclosed by a parapet, a bracketed cornice, six-over-six windows, a semi-circular two-story front portico with corinthian columns and a cornice with denials, a front door with decorative glass sidelights and a decorative glass fanlight transom, decorative window headers and stone sills, and an unadorned one-story rear addition. The building is a contributing structure in the Allentown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. |
