Summary

[edit]
Description

Green heron (standing) and blue heron (taking flight) at "the waterfall," where the North Branch of the Chicago River, which runs east and actually carries real stormwater, drops a few feet into the North Shore Channel, which is 98% treated sewage and 2% stormwater. (I cropped the icky garbage out.)

Behind the trees, sitting in the river's fork, is a baseball field. A game was in progress, and we heard the disembodied announcer's voice. [Photos from river taken two weeks ago, during a canoe sojourn.]
