Description
Polski: Kamienica przypisana była do dzielnicy Górne Przedmieście z numerem konskrypcyjnym 444. Budynek został wzniesiono w 1899 r. prze Aloisa Jedeka dla Alfonsa Mattera. 7 października 1900 r. w pomieszczeniach otwarto pierwszą polską Szkołę Ludową, a od 1909 r. polską prywatną Szkołę Wydziałową, której dyrektorem tuż przed wybuchem I wojny światowej był Hieronim Przepiliński - założyciel męskiej i żeńskiej drużyny skautowej. W budynku tym oprócz Szkoły Ludowej i Wydziałowej mieściło się wiele polskich placówek oświatowych. Znalazła tam swe miejsce Polska Uzupełniająca Szkoła Przemysłowa, którą w 1908 r. założyła Macierz. Od 1909 r. prowadzone były żeńskie kursy uzupełniające. Swoje miejsce znalazły również Paralelki Polskie.
English: Building previously owned by Alfons Matter at 6 Księdza Ignacego Świeżego Street (formerly Sidoniegasse) in district of Cieszyn developed by the famous builder\businessman. This residential suburb, on a hill close to the city centre, later became officially known as Matterówka. There are now two Cieszyn Education Society (pl) commemoration plaques adjacent to the main entrance of the building. The Scotch Mist Gallery contains many photographs of historic buildings, monuments and memorials of Poland.
