Title
English: The steamship Horsa.
Dansk: Dampskibet Horsa.
Object type painting

Description
English: The experts at Bruun Rasmussen used the title Marine med dampdrevet sejlskib ("A sailship with steam engine") for this painting. They might have been a bit more specific, because this is in fact the steamship Horsa, built in Renfrew, Scotland in 1868 for Det jydsk-engelske Dampskibsselskab ("The Jutland-England steamship Company") in Aarhus, Denmark. Blache made a drawing of the Horsa in Aarhus in September 1868 (link to the drawing at Museet for Søfart mfs.dk) and the following year he made this painting. Horsa had a short career, foundering in the North Sea in October 1869.
