Description
Français : La chapelle Saint-Sébastien date de 1605. Si le retable est d'origine, l'autel date de 1889, sur le modèle du tombeaux de Louis de Brézé de la chapelle mariale de la cathédrale de Rouen. Le retable est d'influence italienne, mais d'ordre français: les colonnes ioniques voient leurs fûts ornés de grosses bagues. Un travail de bossage décore le retable ainsi que le cadre de la niche centrale où se situe la statue de saint Sébastien (martyr romain) posé sur un culot qui légèrement masqué par le tabernacle. Les colonnes supportent un entablement simple couronné de petits frontons composés d'ornements superposés, posées sur tablettes, formant des pyramides. Au sommet le grand fronton est brisé et double. Sur les côtés les les rampants servent d'appuis pour des pots à feux. Au centre fronton curviligne abrite un grand médaillon avec les initiatles "S.S." (pour Saint-Sébastien),et un cartouche à l'endroit où les deux rampants se rencontrent, avec la date "1605". Au-dessus de la partie centrale du fronton un ornement a était abattu (pendant la révolution ?): un support pour une croix ou une armoire ?
