English: "Chola Temples" Besides the Cauvery river "The Great Raja Raja Chola" built a Brihadeswarar temeple with admirable carvings on every side of the temple, and the King built a temple not only for a praying he also constructed a monument tower with some space between the inner side of the tower for storing the Huge amount of paddy in the rainy season. This is why still now the Tanjore is called as "Rice bowl of Tamilnadu".
