Summary
[edit]DescriptionChittenden Avenue extension manholes.png |
English: This detail from a 1950 Census Enumeration map shows the route that was intended for Chittenden Avenue in the Hudson Heights neighborhood of Upper Manhattan, New York City. The existing Chittenden Avenue runs between West 186th and West 187th Streets, but the map shows that it was intended to continue northward, roughly parallel to Cabrini Boulevard, going down the hill to meet what was originally Riverside Drive, and is now the northbound lanes of the Henry Hudson Parkway. The yellow dots show the approximate positions of two free-standing manholes which were apparently built for the street's extension.
