| Description |
Chinon (Indre-et-Loire) Rempart Est du château du Milieu. Le château dominant la cité médiévale et le cours de la Vienne est séparé en trois parties inégales : le fort Saint-Georges ; le château du Milieu ; le fort du Coudray. Le château du milieu est séparé des forts Saint-Georges et du Coudray par de profonds fossés. L'enceinte de ce Château du Milieu fut renforcée par plusieurs tours: Tour du Coin (ou de l'échauguette) à l'angle nord-est, très endommagée (probablement XIIIe siècle) ; Tour du Trésor (XIIe siècle) ; Tour des Chiens (XIIIe siècle) ; Tour d'Argenton, construite par Philippe de Commynes à la fin du XVe siècle. |
