Español: Chimenea en el solar del antiguo convento de San Andrés, Málaga, España. Se cree que puede ser empleada para la fabricación de crémor tártaro (bitartrato de potasio). A los pies de la chimenea se encuentra un panel informativo con el siguiente texto, acompañado de los emblemas del Ayuntamiento de Málaga y de la Asociación en Defensa de las Chimeneas y del Patrimonio Industrial de Málaga: «Tras la desamortización en 1836, el convento de San Andrés quedó hecho un solar junto a la iglesia de El Carmen, sobre el cual se instalaron diversas fábricas, almacenes y viviendas. No hay certeza absoluta del uso que tuvo esta chimenea. El plano de Málaga realizado por D. Joaquín Pérez de Rozas en 1863, nos indica que el solar donde se ubicaba esta chimenea era propiedad de Juan Clemens, que era uno de los más importantes productores y exportadores de vino, por lo que se piensa que entre las posibles funciones que tuvo fue en la elaboración del crémor tártaro, que a veces exigía su calcinación y se usaba en la elaboración del vino de Málaga. Hay quien afirma que en los últimos tiempos, mitad del s. XX, perteneció a una pequeña fundición, que terminó especializándose en la elaboración de envases para conservas de pescado. Tanto una actividad como otra, hace muchos años dejaron de funcionar, conservándose esta chimenea, la cual hubo que desplazar unos metros a su ubicación actual, para su restauración. Año 2013». |
