SPRING CATALOGUE OF SEEDS. BULBS AND PLANTS FOR 1915. 51 Choice Gladiolus, Carinas, Dahlias, Lilies The following pages are devoted to our superb Gladiolus, Cannas, Dahlias, Lilies, orlorious New Amaryllis, and a few other rare bulbs. THE GLADIOLUS. For 20 years we have been the largest growers of Gladiolus in the world and our stocks are recognized the world over as being the largest, choicest, and best. We have had customers in Europe order a million bulbs at one time. We have sold in a single season a million bulbs of Gladiolus America alone. On our Flowerfield Estate we grow several hundred acres of Gladiolus, practically the world's supply, and in quantity, quality, and prices we are not to be outdone. The Gladiolus is the most satisfactory, the most desira- ble and the most popular of ail garden bulbs. Nothing else of the kind costs so little, and nothing eise grows and blooms so rapidly for anybody and everybody, in any soil or cli- mate- It is, in short, the most satisfactory garden flower, thriving and blooming, as it does, with the least care and attention, and makes a display which for brilliancy and beauty of coloring few bulbs can equal and none surpass. CULTURE-Gladiolus are of easy culture. Plant at any time from April to July, in any fairly good soil, well spaded. Set in rows three inches apart, or in masses, four inches apart each way. Plant in full sun, if possible, and keep down weeds. After fall frosts, iift the bulbs, remove the tops, and let them dry a few weeks under cover. Then, after remov- ing the roots, store them in a cellar, or any cool, dry place, away from frost, for Diamine aeain in spring.

On the contrary they are made up from splen- did named sorts, brightest and most varied colors, white, yellow, pink, rose, blush, intense scarlet, carmine, violet, striped, blotched, variegated, etc. Common and poor sorts have been discarded and this mixture is the highest grade. Yellow and Orange MixedâAil fine yellow, orange and lemon shadefe. 75c. per dozen : $5-50 per loo. Scarlet and Red MixedâAil bright colors, 30C- per dozen ; $2 25 per 100. Mixed, Blue HybridsâA new strain, a large per cent, of which are various shades of blue. $1.00 per dozen. There are a good many rich blue and purple shades, large flowers and strong growth like the Childsi with the vivid tints and variations of Lemoinei.
