Moral Park ann Jlnairrfirln. OUR NEW FIRE-PROOF BUIyB HOUSE AT FLOWERFIELD. 90 x 300 FEET To such an extent has our business grown dur- ing the last few years that we have been obliged to more than double our capacity for producing Seeds and Bulbs. Accordingly we have acquired for this purpose nearly 1,000 acres of magnificent land some thirty-five miles east of Floral Park, and we call the place Flowerfield. The Long Island Railroad runs directly through the premises and a Station (Freight, Express and Passenger,) and a Post Office have been established there for the ac- commodation of our bnsiness. Close by the Railroad Station we have erected an immense, fire- proof Bulb House, covering ten city loxs, or 90x200 feet, with basement, the largest building of its kind in the world, affording us the most complete facilities for storing and shipping Bulbs and Seeds. Our estate at Flowerfield is also the largest contiguous piece of land devoted to flowers in the whole world (over a mile in its widest part by two miles in length.) Here are hundreds of acres of Gladi- oli and other flowers stretching out in a vista of brilliancy such as the world has never seen. There are ten miles of auto roads through the-estate, enabling one to get to any part of it quickly and conveniently. The estate is dotted here and there with little groves or parks of magnificent trees, and there are stately hedges of giant dogwood, red cedar, oak, chestnut, hickory, cherry and apple. Thousands of people come and drive through it and admire its beauty. Everybody is welcome. Flowerfield is only a growing and shipping point for our heaviest products. Our main business will continue to be at Floral Park which is a large and thriving village built up by our industries. Here are located our main offices, warehouse and mail- order facilities, the most complete to be found anywhere. Here also is our large publishing plant (Mayflower Publishing Company), where all our Catalogues and other job work is turned out. Also our extensive greenhouses, covering several acres. In all, we have here four large, fire-proof build- ings and numerous smaller ones. Floral Park is situated on Long Island just outside the limits of the City of Greater New York, and only twenty-six minutes from the center of Manhattan by direct train service. While we still grow a good many acres of flowers at Floral Park, the major part of our growing department has been moved to Flowerfield, and there one should go to see the great outdoor display. We have a little Floral Park, ten acres (part of a City block) situated at South Pasadena between Orange-Grove and Grand Avenues, the two most "beautiful streets we have ever seen, and only two blocks from the world-famed Busch sunken gar- dens. Here we grow seed of Geraniums, Lantanas, Heliotrope, Petunias and Dahlias. Also bulbs of rare new Callas, Amaryllis, Lilies, etc. On this place are a thousand or more varieties of the most exquisite tropical and semi-tropical plants : Cacti, Agaves, Dracaenas, Palms, Eucalyptus, Acacia, Orange, etc. It is an exquisite bit of fairyland and yields a good deal of our rarest seed supply.
