Tfye Air Potato, op Giai)t YanJ YiI>e* This glorious vine is of the Dioscorea family, the specific name of which, if it has one, we have not been able to ascer- tain. It is of the nature of a Cinnamon Vine but at least four times larger, both in foliage and growth. It will grow more than a foot in a day, throwing out magnificent heart- shaped leaves beautifully ribbed and eleven by ten inches in size- It will easily cover more than thirty feet in a season and the luxuriance of its massive foliage is most effective. Nothing like it for covering and screening. The flowers are in drooping racemes but not showy. The vines bear a quantity of tubers, (air potatoes,) some of which will weigh more than a pound- These tubers make an abundance of planting stock for the next season, while the original tuber from which the vine grows may be lifted and wintered in any cellar. In the Southern and Pacific States it will be hardy in the open ground. Mr. Henry Nehrling of the Gotha Experiment Station says:—UI consider this plant one of the finest, strongest and most elegant vines known." It will certainly give great satisfaction anywhere. Tubers may be planted in May in- doors or out. They start slowly if planted earlier. Fine tubers 20c. each-, 3 for 50c.
