Guilds' GpaiJd Flowering Gaiwas- These are now the most popular and most magnificent of all summer blooming plants for brilliant bedding and mass- ing, and are among the very finest of all pot plants, either for summer or winter blooming. The following named sorts are the very best of the new and better known large flowering Dwarf varieties. We have selected these varieties after care- ful tests of hundreds of sorts, and our customers can rely upon them as being the most magnificent and desirable in every respect, combining large flowers of great brilliancy with beautiful foliage, free blooming and easy growing Qualities. 4 Rare Beauties. Little Cem—This is the d wariest Canna that has yet been introduced. Color bright orange-scarlet with a slight gold band about some of the petals. The plant grows only about eight to twelve inches high, but the panicles of bloom are as large and fine as those found on varieties growing much larger. It is, therefore, a perfect beauty as a pot plant, and for edging beds of taller-growing Cannas it is indispensable. A most valuable Canna. Mrs. Kate Cray—By many considered to be the finest flow- ering Canna. Size and style of Austria and Italia. Im- mense Musa-like leaves, and large clusters of enormous bloom with 4 inch petals, Color, dark orange llamed scarlet, or a bright flame color. Very rich and brilliant. Perfection—A grand yellow, freely spotted red- Finest spotted sort yet introduced. Very dwarf, wide petals, immense panicles. 3 to 4 feet. Miami -A distinct and rare color, seldom seen in any flower, and entirely new in Cannas. Kich bronze orange. Flower large and perfect. Price, 20c. each; the U for 7;>c. Mixed Cannas—For Large Show Beds A mixture of the finest dwarf large flowering kinds, which will go well together, and make a most magnificent bed or border of bright colors. "We can thoroughly recom- mend this mixture, for we kwow that it will give the great- est results. Price, by express, strong roots, 60c. per dozen; $4.00 per 100. Ganna Seed. New Hybrids—Choice hand saved seed from the grandest new Hybrid varieties. Seedlings bloom in 2 or 3 months. Will give magnificent results. 20c. per pkt. Fine Mixed—A magnificent strain of all colors, and finest flowers. 10c. pkt. For other Canna seed see page 12. The M-ayexoweb, March 1003. tells all about Cannas and their culture. A very thorough treatise. Prioe only 50. per copy. 12 prize Gar>i>as—G^eap. Alsaise—A vigorous grower, 4 feet, with large panicles of bloom. Spikes full, densp, and producing early and con- tinuously. Color lovely creamy white, the nearest to a pure white yet seen among Cannas. Alphonse Bouvier—Kich, luxuriant foliage and enormous panicles of great wide-petaled flowers, which are of the darkest and richest blood vermillion color. Augusta—Enormous flowers, beautiful canary-yellow with a silvery hue, inside slightly dotted with red. Both in foliage and flower it is grand. 5 feet. Coronet — Semi-dwarf; bright green foliage and large trusses of pure sulphur-yellow flowers. Absolutely a pure yellow. Exceedingly fine. Constance—Very large clusters of intense scarlet blossoms. Florence Vaughan-The Queen of the fancy spotted varie- ties. Flowers of enormous size, petals exceedingly broad and of perfect shape. Color, bright canary yellow thickly spotted with vivid scarlet. 4 feet. F. F. Hunt—Fine large flower and beautiful compact truss. Color pure canary yellow freely striped with scarlet. A grand new variety. 3 to 4 feet. John B. Dutcher—Immense truss of gigantic blossoms, Color dark crimson-maroon, rich and velvety. Probably the finest an"1 richest dark color. 4 feet. i Italia—Flowers very large, each petal 4 to 5 inches, and most beautifully colored. Bright scarlet, with a broad yel- low border, irregularly blotched and spotted. 5 feet. Maiden's Blush—Very large, fine flower of a lovely blush white. 3 to 4 feet. Paul Bruant—Largest and finest, light scarlet. Improved Rainbow—Each leaf is beautifully variegated with pink, scarlet, orange, gray, green, etc. In habit of growth it is superb. It haHly reaches the height of 3 feet, and is compact, with numerous leaves, which are wide, wavy and graceful.
