Borneo is freefrom tigers, and this is fortunate, for travellmg throughthe jungles would be dangerous indeed if tigers werelikely to be encountered. The only wild animals to befound are the small and comparatively harmless tree-tiger, and the little brown honey-bear, but neitherof these are much feared.
