Italiano: La chiesetta risale al XVIII° secolo; fa parte di un unico complesso monastico insieme al convento attaccato ad essa, anche se oggi il convento viene usato come sede della camera del lavoro e per uffici comunali.
La chiesetta si presenta molto semplice, con due entrate, una principale in piazza Cesare Battisti ed un'altra in via Conte Alaimo, ed un campanile a 3 campane in pietra. L'interno si presenta ad unica navata con pavimento originario, a differenza del tetto che è stato ricostruito dopo il cedimento. Questa chiesa ha sicuramente il suo fascino e può essere vista con una vera e propria galleria; infatti, anche se piccola come chiesa, ospita al suo interno 7 tele di notevoli dimensioni ( due recentemente restaurate dall'Archeoclub di Lentini a proprie spese). Oltre ai quadri è possibile vedere, appena si entra a destra, una fonte a colonna, creata utilizzando un vecchio capitello ( cosa molto frequente a Lentini come caso), una bellissima fonte battesimale in marmo del XVI°secolo ( incisa su di essa la data 1589), un crocifisso di pregevole mano e la statua della Madonna del Carmine, nella nicchia sopra l'altare, decorata nel '900. |
