English: Awksarala:
Awksarala (1894 - 30 March, 1954), was born in 1894 in Mizoram, India. His name Awksarala was taken from Thlaawklem (Lunar Eclipse). By the time Awksarala was born, suddenly total Lunar eclipse happened in Mizoram. He was the son of famous chief Vanphunga Sailo, Khandaih which is located in the north eastern part of Mizoram. Awksarala established a new village and become a chief in 1911 at Thanglailung with 270 households. He was the famous and wise chief and he becomes a leader among the chiefs i.e Chief Council under British India. He married Lalhliapi, daughter of Hliappui Chief in 1917. Awksarla had reigned over Phullen (Phullen, Thanglailung, Changzawl) for forty years. He had been suffering from Asthma and he died on 30th March, 1954, 11:00 AM at Phullen. He was buried in Awksarala’s Tomb, at Lalhuantlang, Phullen. pb |
