Summary
[edit]DescriptionChicago Club (7179210297).jpg |
The Chicago Club (1929). It is a private social club that was founded in 1869. It replaced a Burnham & Root building that collapsed during a remodeling effort. The current building was erected in 1929 to replace it. Some of the arches used in the Burnham & Root building were incorporated into the new building. The club is famously exclusive, only allowing one visitor, a Chicago Tribune editor, in its history. Among the club's members were Marshall Field and George Pullman.
