Description

Taken near Crichton, Midlothian, Scotland.

Notes: Eyes bare. Side of facial knob bare. Legs black = all lead to 'Antiqua group'. Wing bases hyaline = in Britain C. spp. vicina, nigripes, antiqua, pubera, ahenea & sahlbergi. Sternites out of sight unfortunately so can't be used. Not male nigripes as that species has black hairs on tergite 4. Face & frons dusted rather than shiny which discounts C. antiqua, ahenea & sahlbergi.

Bronze colour suggests pubera backed up by this species' association with Marsh Marigold common where this photograph was taken.
