| Description |
English: Wash house in Charny (Yonne, France), rue de la Fontaine. The name of the street indicates the presence of a spring, located just outside the wash house here on the left ; we can see the water flowing from the basin holding the spring water, into the actual wash house. As of today March 13, 1013, the walls of the wash house itself on the road-side (behind us) are in need of repairs, and new steps are also needed, at the moment being redone to come down in from the street. Français : Lavoir de Charny (Yonne, France), rue de la Fontaine. Le bassin de retenue de l'eau de la source est situé immédiatement à l'entrée du lavoir, ici à gauche ; on peut voir le petit déversoir amenant l'eau de ce bassin dans le bassin du lavoir. A ce jour 13 mars 1013, les murs du lavoir côté rue (derrière nous) nécessitent des réparations, et il fallait aussi réparer les marches d'accès de la rue au lavoir. Les travaux sont en cours, les marches en ciment viennent d'être coulées. |
